Monday Morning Quarterback (October 12) E-mail

The football games over the past weekend weren't too enticing.  Yeah, we got to see a boring Florida vs. LSU game where every announcer turned neurologist kept paying close attention to Tim Tebow's head.  His head wouldn't even touch the ground and there'd be five replays with ten different angles analyzing the impact of his head and if it rattled him.  I think Tebow should've came out like David Wright after he took a baseball to the dome and had an extra huge helmet on that was five times as big as his head.  Not really too many other solid college football games.  Pitt had a very nice comeback on UConn.  I love how all the Pitt fans booed Bill Stull as he threw a touchdown pass and then totally won the game for them.  Then again their Pitt fans, so you expect them to suck as fans as much as their team sucks.  Alabama demolished an overrated Ole Miss.  Maybe it's because I'm from the Northeast, but I think the SEC's a tad overrated.  Alabama and Florida are legitimate top 5 teams, but think almost everyone else in that conference is nothing too special and other conferences can easily compete with them.  How about that great call by Dick-Rod to put in their I run 90% of the time quarterback who can't throw over five yards and then have him toss it down the field to nobody for an interception QB over the comeback kid Tate Forcier.  Michigan fans are Dick-Rod riders too because they'll love him for beating ND, but now we have a couple of losses and let's see if the weather changes in Ann Arbor.  That was basically the gist of college football on Saturday.

The NFL was utterly boring yesterday.  There was only one intriguing game that actually was entertaining, New England and Denver.  Congrats to Denver for going 5-0 and Josh McDaniels beating his sensai Bill Belichick.  I thought the post game was the most intriguing part though.  I loved how Belichick wondered around the field looking for McDaniels knowing that it would be a major press story if he didn't find him.  Of course since McDaneils is about 5'0" tall on his tippy toes Belichick couldn't find him over a bunch of NFL players.  We got to see McDaniels give three of the hardest fist pumps I've ever seen.  I thought his arm was going to fly out of the socket.  He then proceeded to jump in the arms of one of his players like it was the ending scene from Armageddon.  Either way, he won me over after those antics.  I was hoping the 49ers/Falcons game would be good.  It wasn't.  Same for the Titans vs. Colts.  Top billing of the day for worst game has to go to the great Cleveland Browns and the Buffalo Bills.  The Browns got their first win of the season after Derek Anderson tore it up worse than a gay man's asshole after a bowl of chili.  His stat line was 2 for 17, 23 yards, and an interception.  The Browns won 6-3 after Roscoe Parrish caught 3 punts for 7 yards and two fumbles lost.  At least next week we get the undefeated Saints versus the undefeated New York Giants.  Oh I forgot to mention that tonight we got hispanic night on Monday Night Football.  Aye Carumba!
