Playoffs? We're Talking About Fantasy Playoffs? E-mail

That's exactly what we're talking about this week.  I know it's only week 8 and most of us have five more weeks to worry about what our teams are going to look like for the playoffs.  Actually, I think most people are just worried about making the playoffs.  Either way you have to prepare your team for the future and the time to do so is now.  Hopefully your team is about to go on a nice little run.  I always feel that this is about the time that the real fantasy owners shine as they have built their team up enough to have a solid bench of players and they can finally play solid matchups week in and week out.  The top teams seem to die down as they went on a nice run due to some hot players, but those players are finally cooling or they don't have the depth to win anymore.  So if you have prepared yourself and have the bench depth than don't worry about making the playoffs, it will happen.  So that brings me back to playoffs.  Now's the time when you want to grab some players, defenses, or kickers (since they don't count as players in my mind) that will benefit you the greatest once you get there.  Scan free agency and look at the future schedules, especially for a defense.  A few points can make or break you when you get to the playoffs so by getting a defense with strong matchups in the latter weeks you can really be ready to gain the extra points when it matters most.  Of course you want to always be prepared to make the playoffs, but also be prepared once you get there.
