So Rush Limbaugh wants to be an owner of the St. Louis Rams. Hell, I say go for it. I don't even want to own a miserable franchise as bad as the Rams. Now the real factor here is Rush himself. We've already heard multiple players and some owners talk about how they disagree with Rush becoming an owner and how they would protest or vote against it. I don't get that thinking. Politics is a sensitive subject for some reason. You ask a person their party affiliation and it's like asking a woman if she's pregnant. There's like a break in the conversation like are you really asking me this? Now I'm not a fan of Rush Limbaugh at all, and he may say many outlandish and controversial things, but do any of these things really have an effect on if he can own the Rams? People disagree on an abundance of moral values and social issues, but if there's one thing Americans all agree on is that we are the land of the free and the nation of opportunity. So even if I disagree with Rush Limbaugh I think he should be free to have the opportunity to own the St. Louis Rams.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here with my thinking on this issue, but people need to step back a minute and not jump to conclusions. Some of the black players have issues with Rush Limbaugh as an owner because they think he's a bigot or is a racist. Other owners in the NFL might feel the same way. I don't think he's a racist as much as a partyist. Yes a partyist. Now the real question is, is there anything wrong with being a partyist? A partyist is someone who always sides with their party; disagrees with the other party; and no person can change their opinion about it. Now of course being a partyist will cloud your judgement on some issues, but is it really the worst thing in the world? I think most fans are partyists. Our party is our favorite team. You always want your favorite team to be the best, will defend them against everyone else's team no matter the stats or facts thrown at you and you will be on their side in any situation. Of course there's situations that you disagree with on your team; you may want a new coach or a new players, but you will never leave that team and join another. You are stuck with them through the thick and the thin and even if your judgement is clouded because you think they're the best and they aren't, then so be it. I don't blame anyone for being a Raiders or Rams fan, I don't blame anyone for being a staunch Democrat or Republican, and I don't blame Rush Limbaugh for repeatedly and sometimes distastefully believing what he believes in.
Now the real question to this whole ownership matter is how his partyism will effect how he runs the team. Now being the conservative capitalist he is I'm guessing that Rush will want to make some sort of profit, and in the NFL the best, easiest, and most profitable way of doing that is by winning. Do people really think he's trying to purchase the St. Louis Rams and start a genocide of the NFL and get rid of every black player from his team? Is he really going to force everyone on the team to believe that Obama is a socialist and that all liberals are horrible people? Is he going to become an owner who is bigger than the NFL? The answers to all those are no. I don't think any player is going to sit out and not take home a paycheck because Rush is the owner and I don't think any fellow owner is going to not cash in on revenue if they're playing the Rams and he's the owner either. This team can't get much worse and I think Rush would make the team much better. We need to remember that Rush Limbaugh is a radio personality. He gets paid millions upon millions of dollars to do what he does and does it better than any political radio host it seems. Howard Stern is also a controversial radio personality, but the difference is that Howard isn't talking about one side of politics on a daily basis. So I hope Rush becomes owner of the Rams and we get to see him as an owner of a NFL team instead of a conservative radio host. If he has an ounce of the same partyist nature he has for the Rams as he does the Republican party than he will be a great owner for the St. Louis Rams and the NFL as a whole.
